We have most recently invested in 5 well located, student assets within Bath and Oxford, strong university cities. We have upgraded the properties and the corresponding rental increases have exceeded our forecasts.

Founded by Richard Crawshay Jones, Neil Young and Sylvana Young, Bathford Partners is a private business built on decades of experience and a strong commitment to values. Since 2020, we have deployed approximately £100 million into the UK student accommodation sector through various private equity vehicles, attracting both institutional and high-net-worth/family office investors.

Sylvana qualified as a Surveyor in the early 90s. She started her career with Segro, Warner Music and DTZ, prior to being a founding member of Young in 2003. She was part of the team that founded Get Living, before taking on the full time role of Chief Design Officer in 2014, where she helped grow Get Living to be a £2bn+ listed REIT.
Her area of expertise is generating asset value through creating places where people want to live, work and visit. Sylvana’s design intelligence has been applied to a wide mix of development schemes and public realm projects spread geographically across the UK and at various stages of design, construction and mobilisation.
She works collaboratively to ensure that experience and knowledge are immersed into all elements of the projects, from façade to landscape, from structure to IT.
Sylvana was named one of Bisnow’s Best and Brightest Women in UK Real Estate in 2019, has been shortlisted for the VC Business Women Award and won the NLA Women in Property (London) award.

Neil started investing in residential properties in the 1990s. An accountant by profession, his focus has been to improve the product and service levels of the sector to attract sophisticated investors and institutions to invest in the rental sector.
He has been Chairman, CEO and Advisor across the living sector including build to rent (Get Living), student housing (We Are Kin), residential investment firm (Young Group) and first time buyer fund (Fable Capital) to name a few. He has worked with some of the biggest and most respected investors, including Oxford Properties, Qatari Diar, APG and Delancey as well as many private investors.
During this time, he has sat on Government committees, the BPF Residential Board and was a founding Director at the Association of Rental Living whilst being frequently quoted and featured in the media.
Bathford Partners is a culmination of many decades of experience for Neil.

Richard has focused on student property investment and development since 2012, primarily in the South West. He has a proven track record of delivering high-quality student homes tailored for the domestic student market. Deal origination and overseeing refurbishment contracts are his specialities.
Formerly the CEO of We Are Kin, a private equity backed, 1600+ bed student HMO portfolio, he has an eye for finding the best opportunities in all major UK student market cities.
